Add an Opportunity
Use the Opportunity form to add a new opportunity record that you want to track. When you create a new opportunity, DPS also creates an empty plan for that opportunity using default settings, so you can immediately begin entering a plan structure and planned labor hours.
You can create a new opportunity record if you have add access permissions. However, if you have read-only or modify access for all records, the option to add a new opportunity is not displayed.
Alternatives:
- If your enterprise has implemented the GovWin IQ integration and you are a GovWin IQ user, you can also add opportunities by importing them from GovWin IQ.
- If you previously maintained your opportunity information in another CRM application, it is likely that you can export your opportunities from that application to a .CSV file. If so, you can then import them from the .CSV file using the import option in .
To add a new opportunity:
- In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and select Opportunities.
- Click + New Opportunity next to the search field to display the Opportunity form.
- In the Summary pane to the left of the tabs, enter an ID, IQ Record, revenue, stage, and other information.
-
To assign an ID to an

- If automatic numbering is enabled for opportunities, DPS assigns the ID for you. (If the field is not disabled, you can enter an ID yourself rather than use the automatically generated ID.)
- On the Overview tab, enter a name or other identifier for the new opportunity in Name.
- Enter additional information about the opportunity, such as a primary client, a description, key employees, and procurement details.
- Click each of the other tabs on the Opportunities hub form to enter additional information for an opportunity on each tab.
- Click Save.
