Edit an Opportunity

You can edit opportunity records if you have edit security access for DPS system records.

To edit an opportunity record:

  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and select Opportunities.
  2. Use the search field above the opportunity name to search for and select the opportunity that you want to edit.
  3. Complete either of the following to edit a field on the Opportunities form:
    • Hover over a field, and click beside the field to open the field in edit mode.
    • On the Actions bar, click Edit.

      This opens all fields on the Opportunities form in edit mode.

      Note that when you edit the opportunity Name, the header information updates upon saving the record.

  4. Use the remaining tabs to add or edit opportunity information.
    Tab Purpose
    Overview Review and edit key data, such as the opportunity description and location, organization, project manager, principal, supervisor, and related project.
    Team Organize information about the team of employees and contacts who work on an opportunity.
    Activities Schedule and manage a variety of activities, including meetings, phone calls, and other tasks that are associated with an opportunity record. You can also create and maintain lists of milestones and activities for the opportunity.
    Marketing Campaigns Associate this opportunity to marketing campaign from which you learned about this opportunity.
    Competition Create and maintain information about the strengths and weaknesses of competitors who are pursuing the associated opportunity.
    Proposals Review and maintain proposal information associated with an opportunity.
    Files and Links Review and maintain files and links to information that is associated with an opportunity, such as correspondence, presentations, web sites, and other types of text or graphic files.

    Your system administrator may add custom user-defined tabs to supplement these.
