Opportunities Team Tab

Use the Team tab in the Opportunities hub to create and maintain lists of the firms, employees, and external contacts that are associated with the opportunity.

Much of the information for DPS is entered and displayed in grids on various forms. For information about using grids, see Working with Grids.

Reorder columns and sort record rows in a grid to suit your viewing preferences. Changes that you make to the order of columns and rows are remembered from session to session. Firms Grid

This grid displays the firms that are associated with the opportunity.

If the list is long and you want to locate a particular firm, type one or more characters from the firm name to restrict the list to firms with names that contain those characters.

To add another firm to the team, click + Add Firm below the grid. When you add a firm to the team for an opportunity, DPS automatically creates an association between the two. If you select the firm in the Firms hub and go to the Associations tab, the opportunity displays in the Opportunities grid.

To copy, delete, or make a firm on the grid as a primary client of the opportunity, click , and select the desired option.

Field Description
Name This column displays the name of the firm.

Click the name to display an info bubble containing firm information: market, primary location, phone number, and status. Click More... in the info bubble to display the full firm record on a separate browser tab. (If the row is in edit mode, you cannot display the info bubble. In that case, click anywhere outside the row to take it out of edit mode and then click the name.)

If the firm has not yet been added, you can click + Add Firm at the bottom of the drop-down list add the firm.

Type This column displays an icon to indicate the general type of role that the firm has for the opportunity:
  • Client
  • Vendor
If you are not familiar with an icon, hover over it to display the type in a tooltip.

If the firm should have a different type for the opportunity, you can change it. If that type of role is not currently selected for the firm in the Firms hub, you are asked if you want to update the firm record.

Role

This column displays the firm's role for the opportunity, such as Client, Architect, or Primary. You can select a different role from the drop-down list.

To enter a more detailed description of the role, hover over the grid row and click More... at the end of the row to the full firm record on a separate browser tab. If the firm is the primary client for the opportunity, select Make Primary on the Firm form. (An opportunity can have only one primary client.) If Make Primary is disabled, make sure that the Type column contains the client icon.

Location This column displays location of the firm that is associated with the opportunity. You can specify a different location.
Phone This column displays the phone number associated with the selected firm location.
Role Description Use this field to explain the firm's role for the project opportunity. Click to open the text editor and enter detailed information.
Make Primary If the firm is the primary client for the opportunity, click and select the Make Primary option. An opportunity can have only one primary client. If the opportunity already has a primary client, selecting this option for a different firm changes the primary client. (You cannot select Make primary if the firm is not designated as a client for the opportunity in the Type column.)
+ Add Firm To add another firm for the opportunity team, click this link, select the firm in Name, and enter the other team information.

Team Members

Field Description
Team Members Grid This grid displays your employees and external contacts that are involved with the opportunity. If the list is long and you want to locate a particular employee or contact, type one or more characters from the person's first, preferred, or last name to restrict the list to team members with names that contain those characters.

If you import an opportunity from GovWin IQ, you have the option to also import contacts that are associated with that opportunity. If you do, those contacts automatically display in this grid along with contacts that you add to the team yourself.

To add another team member, click + Add Team Member below the grid. When you add an external contact to the team for an opportunity, DPS automatically creates an association between the two. If you select the contact in the Contacts or Employees areas and go to the Associations tab, the opportunity is displayed in the Opportunities grid. Likewise, if you select an opportunity on the Associations tab for a contact or employee, that contact or employee is automatically added to the team for the opportunity.

If you use Deltek to create a Kona space for the opportunity, the employees listed in the grid automatically receive an invitation to join the space.

To copy, delete, or make a team member on the grid as a primary contact of the opportunity, click , and select the desired option.

Name This field displays the team member's name. Click the name to display a info bubble containing employee or contact information: job title, location, phone numbers, and email address. If the team member is an external contact, click More... in the info bubble to display the full contact record on a separate browser tab. (If the row is in edit mode, you cannot display the info bubble. In that case, click anywhere outside the row to take it out of edit mode and then click the name.)

To add another team member to the team, click + Add Team Member below the grid, and select the team member in Name in the empty row that displays. If the team member is an external contact and has not yet been added, you can click + New Contact at the bottom of the drop-down list and add the contact.

Type This column displays an icon to indicate the general type of role that the contact has for the opportunity:
  • Employee
  • Client
  • Vendor

If the contact should have a different type for the opportunity, you can change it. If that type of role is not currently selected for the contact in the Contacts hub, you are asked if you want to update the contact record.

Role This field displays the contact's role for the opportunity, such as Contracts Manager, Owner Contact, Primary Contact, and Project Manager.
Firms For an external contact, this field displays the firm with which the contact is associated. For your employees who are on the team, this field is blank.

In that case, click anywhere outside the row to take it out of edit mode and then click the name.)

Phone This field displays the team member's phone number.
Role Description Use this field to explain the contact's role for the opportunity. Click to open the text editor and enter detailed information.
At the end of each record row, click the ellipsis icon and select an option (Copy, Delete, or Make Primary) from the list.

Select Make primary if the team member is an external contact and is the primary contact for the opportunity. An opportunity can have only one primary contact. If you have selected a primary client, this option is only available for contacts associated with that firm. If you have not selected a primary client and you select a primary contact, the firm with which that contact is associated is made the primary client. If the firm is not yet listed in the Firms grid on the Team tab, it is automatically added to that grid.

+ Add Team Member To add another team member for the opportunity, click this link, and select the team member and the team member's role in the fields provided. The team members available for selection include your employees and contacts associated with client and vendor firms.
