Add Proposal Information to an Opportunity

Use the Proposals tab to manage proposal information related to an opportunity. The Proposals grid is where you view, add, or edit information about the proposal that you submitted. You cannot directly access or link to the proposals documents from this tab.

To add proposal information to an opportunity:

  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and select Opportunities.
  2. In Search, select a specific opportunity from the drop-down list. The Opportunities form displays details for the selected opportunity.
  3. Click the Proposals tab. The Proposals tab displays both a Proposals grid and a Project Codes grid listing all the proposals and project codes currently associated with the selected opportunity.
  4. Click +Add Proposal. A blank row displays at the bottom of the grid that you can use to complete proposal information.

    DPS autopopulates the Name field with the name of the selected opportunity.

  5. Enter the number of the proposal that you want to link to the opportunity record.
  6. Click to select the proposal type from the drop-down list, such as Letter of Interest or Statement of Qualifications. Your administrator sets up the Proposal types in the Settings > Labels and Lists area.
  7. Select the organization that is sending the proposal. to select a level within it, such as an regional office or business unit. You can drill down into a multiple company organization.
  8. Select the employee who is coordinating the proposal. The name appears as a link to an info bubble that contains contact and status information for the employee.
  9. Specify the way in which your company heard of the Request for Proposal. This proposal source can differ from the source of the opportunity that is connected to this proposal. On the Navigation pane, click Settings > Labels and Lists to set up proposal source options in the Proposal Source List.
  10. Select the status of the proposal, such as Won or Pending. The proposal status can differ from the status of the opportunity to which the proposal is connected. On the Navigation pane, click Settings > Labels and Lists to set up status options in the Proposal Status List.
  11. Select the date of the notice for the Request for Proposal.
  12. Select the date on which the proposal was sent or the date on which you plan to submit it.
  13. Select the date on which you expect the project to be awarded by the client.
  14. Enter the fee you will receive if the client accepts your proposal.
  15. Click Save to save your changes or move off the proposal record's row to automatically save the proposal record.
