Check in a Project Plan

When you check out a plan, other users can view it but cannot make changes to it until it is checked back in. Though a plan is automatically checked in when you switch to a different project or go elsewhere in DPS, there may be situations in which you must manually check in plans.

DPS automatically checks in the current plan when you select a different project, leave Planning mode in the Projects hub, log out, navigate to a different URL, use the browser's Refresh option, or close the browser.

To check in plans manually:
  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and click Projects, or go to the Resource Management section and click Project View or Resource View.
  2. If you are in the Projects hub, switch the Project/Plan toggle to Plan.
  3. Depending on where you are, on the Actions bar, click Actions > Check in Plans or Other Actions > Check in Plans.
  4. In the Check In Plans dialog box, select the plan or plans that you want to check in, and click Check In.

The dialog box lists all plans that are currently checked out. You can check in the plans that are checked out to you, and if your security role is an Administrator role, you can also check in plans that are checked out to others.
