Data Import Security
DPS closely controls who can use the Data Import utility.
When you first access the Data Import utility, only transaction type tables are available in the Table Description field.
To access non-transaction type tables, such as client, employee, or project records, you must have security access to those tables. Security access is based on settings entered for your role in
.To access non-transaction type tables, hold down CTRL + SHIFT and click the Import Utility form. DPS displays the Confirm Password dialog box. Enter your password and click OK.
Enabling Data Import for Users
For a user to access Data Import, the user's role must have access to certain areas and functions in
.- On the General tab, the role must have access to Transaction Centers and the Units hub in the desktop application.
- On the Record Access tab, the role must have either Add/Modify or Full access to these areas.
- On the Accounting tab, the role must have Enter selected on the Transaction Type grid for the type of transaction.
- The role must be able to add records to the table.
