Create a New Phase from an Existing Phase
You can base a new phase on an existing phase.
To create a new phase from an existing phase:
- From the Navigation menu, click .
- On the Projects hub form, open the project record.
- Click New and select Create Phase from....

On the Create Phase From dialog box, select
Existing Project from the
Copy From drop-down list and make the following selections:
- Click Search in the first Project field to open the Project lookup and select an existing project with phases.
- Click Search in the second Project field to open the Phase/Task lookup and select the phase on which the new phase will be based.
- Complete the remaining fields on the Create Phase From dialog box and click OK. DPS closes the dialog box and copies the phase details into the record.
- Enter a unique name and number and modify other phase information on the tabs of the form.
- Click Save.
