Create a New Project from an Opportunity

You can create a new project from an existing opportunity.

If the opportunity is associated with a project plan, the opportunity data brought into the project record includes all prior client, contact, and employee relationships.

To create a new project from an opportunity:

1. From the Navigation menu, click Hubs > Projects.
2. Click New and select Create Project from....
3. On the Create Project From dialog box, select Opportunity from the Copy From drop-down list.
4. In the Opportunity field, click Search to open the Opportunity lookup and select the opportunity that you want to use to create the new project record.
5. Complete the remaining fields on the Copy Project From dialog box (for the new project record).
6. Click OK. DPS closes the Create Project From dialog box and opens a new project record. DPS enters the opportunity's information in the new project record.
7. On the tabs of the Projects hub form, enter additional information about the new project.
8. Click Save.
