Purchase Template Editor
Use the Purchase Template Editor to specify fields to print on purchase orders or request for price quote forms, or to specify the dimensions of the signature area on purchase orders.
The template setup procedure is the same for purchase order templates and request for price quote templates. The system administrator makes a collection of templates that refers to how your company uses templates:
- A single template can be used for both purchase orders and requests for price quote, or
- One or more templates can be identified to use for purchase orders, and one or more templates can be identified to use for requests for price quote.
How Templates are Assigned to Buyers and Vendors
DPS adds each new template to these lists:
- The PO Template field on the Buyers grid of the Buyer tab in
- The RFQ/PO Template field on the Accounting tab of the Vendor Info Center.
Signature Image Files
If the purchase template used for the purchase order has an electronic signature file (an image file), and the Display Signature on Purchase Footer option is selected on the Signature tab of the Purchase Template Editor form, DPS prints the signature on the Signature line of the purchase order.
Naming Guidelines
When you create a new purchase template in the Purchase Template Editor, you must specify a name for the template. Deltek recommends the following naming guidelines to help identify a template in lookup and drop-down lists:
- If the template is used only for purchase orders or only for requests for price quote, add "PO" or "RFQ" to the template's name.
- If the template is used only for a certain vendor, use a name that identifies this vendor.
- If the template is available to some of your company's buyers, use a name that identifies the buyers.
Multicompany
If you have multiple companies, all companies' lists show all of the purchase templates, and do not refer to the active company.
