Consolidated Profit Planning Monitor Columns Tab

Use the Columns tab to select or clear columns, change column sequence, provide new column labels, set column widths, or select number and date formats.

Field Description
Current Amount This column displays the amount of account activity during the current accounting period.
Current Budget This column displays the budget for the account for the current period. You determine the source of all budget amounts on the report when you select one or more budgets for the current fiscal year from the list on the General tab. If you do not select a budget, any budget columns on the report will be empty.
Current Budget Variance This column displays the difference between the current period amount and the current period budget for the account.
Current Budget Variance Percent This column displays the current period budget variance divided by the current period budget for the account.
Year-to-Date Amount This column displays the amount of account activity during the current fiscal year.
Year-to-date Budget This column displays the budget for this account for the current fiscal year through the current accounting period. You determine the source of all budget amounts on the report when you select one or more budgets for the current fiscal year from the list on the General tab. If you do not select a budget, any budget columns on the report will be empty.
Year-to-date Budget Variance This column displays the difference between the year-to-date amount and the year-to-date budget for the account.
Year-to-date Budget Variance Percent This column displays the year-to-date budget variance divided by the year-to-date budget for the account.
Annual Budget This column displays the total budget for the account for the current fiscal year.
Custom Amount, Percent, Variance, and Variance Percent 01-13 You can include up to 13 custom amount columns, 13 custom budget columns, 13 custom budget variance columns, and 13 custom budget variance percentage columns on the Profit Planning Monitor to display account activity and budget information for any period or range of periods.
  • The custom amount columns display the amount of account activity during the periods you specify.
  • The custom budget columns display the budgets for the periods you specify.
  • The custom budget variance columns display the difference between the corresponding custom amount and custom budget amount.
  • The custom budget variance percentage columns display the result of dividing the corresponding custom budget variance by the custom budget.

If you display more than one of these types of columns, specify the same range of accounting periods for each of the columns in a set. For example, if you add Custom Amount 01 and Custom Budget 01 to the report, and if Custom Amount 01 displays account activity for the first quarter of the current year, you must set up Custom Budget 01 to display the budgets for the first quarter of the current year. However, you do not need to display all four columns on the report. You can select any combination of the columns.

For each custom column that you include on the report, specify the following on that row of the grid:

  • A column heading of one or two lines in Line 1 Heading and Line 2 Heading
  • An accounting period range in Period Start and Period End
Custom Currency Code If you set up custom currency fields for any accounts, this column displays the currency code specified for those fields, as specified on the Accounts form (Settings > Accounting > Chart of Accounts).
Sort/Select 1-3 These columns display the sort and select fields that are assigned to the account.
