Use the Graph tab to select graph settings for the Resource Utilization by Organization report.
Value of Y-Axis
Use this option to specify whether the report shows demand and capacity based on hours or on full-time equivalents:
-
Hours Demand: The total number of planned hours for employees for the reporting period. The graph only includes planned hours for employees and plans that are included on the report.
-
Hours Capacity: The total number of employee hours available for the organization for the reporting period. If the graph is at the report total level, then the graphed values are for available hours for all of the active employees for the active company.
-
FTE Demand:
DPS first divides the planned hours in
Hours Demand by the number of working days in the period and then divides that result by the number of hours in one full-time equivalent that you specified on the Inclusions tab.
-
FTE Capacity:
DPS totals the number of work hours per day for the active employees in the organization or active company, depending on where the graph is displayed in the report.
DPS then divides the result by the number of hours in one full-time equivalent that you specified on the Inclusions tab. (The full-time equivalent capacity on the graph is the same value that the report displays in the
Total Available Hours column in the full-time equivalent row in the data section of the report.)
If you select
FTE Only in
Value of Y-Axis, how
DPS calculates full-time equivalent demand and capacity varies based on other options.
Graph Only
If you want the report to consist of a graph without columns of data, select
Graph Only in the
Report Using group box on the General tab. You can also display just the graph on your Dashboard.

Field | Description |
Show
|
Select
Show to specify a plan probability range, label, and color for the graph.
If you select
Data and Graph or
Graph Only in the
Report Using group box on the General tab, select at least one probability range for the graph.
|
Plan Probability % Range
|
Use these fields to specify the range of plan probability percentages.
Valid entries are
0 to
100. The ranges cannot overlap. For example, if the ending value for one range is 80, the starting percentage for the next range must be 81 or greater.
DPS uses the estimate of the probability that a plan will become a project in the
Probability field on the General tab of the Project Planning form to generate the graph.
|
Label
|
Enter a label for each probability percentage range.
|
Color
|
Select a color for each plan probability range.
DPS displays the corresponding stacked segments in those colors on the graph.
|
Value of Y-Axis
|
Select one of the following to indicate the values on the Y-axis:
-
FTE Only: The Y-axis displays full-time equivalent values, based on the planned hours for the reporting period.
-
Hours Only: The Y-axis displays the planned hours for the reporting period.
|
Show Capacity Line
|
Select this check box to display a thick, dashed line across the graph to indicate the capacity for the organization or for the company. If you select this option, you cannot select the
Make Columns 3-Dimensional check box.
|
Make Columns 3 - Dimensional
|
Select this check box to display columns that appear to be three-dimensional. If you select

|
Show Value Labels in Columns
|
Select this check box to display the number of full-time equivalents or hours on each column.
|
Show Graph For
|
Select one of the following options to indicate where in the report you want
DPS to display a graph:
-
Report Total Only: The report displays one graph. The graph represents values for all resources and plans included on the report.
-
Each Employee Organization on Report: The report displays one graph for each organization. The graph represents values for all employees and plans for that organization that are included on the report.
-
Each Employee Organization and Report Total: The report displays one graph for each organization and a graph for the report as a whole.
