Set the Margin for the First Column
You set the margins for report pages as a whole on the Layout tab of the report Options dialog box. However, you can also set a different left margin for the first column of data if you want that column indented or offset from the left margin of the page.
To determine the position of the first column,
DPS adds your entry in
Left margin for first column to the entry in
Left Margin on the Layout tab. For example, if you use inches and
Left Margin contains
1.00 and
Left margin for first column contains
.25,
DPS prints the report header information with a 1.00-inch margin but prints the first column 1.25 inches from the left edge of the page.
To set the margin for the first column:
- Click the Columns tab on the Options dialog box.
- In Left margin for first column (below the grid), enter the number of inches or millimeters that you want the first column indented from the left margin. You enter inches or millimeters based on which one you selected in the Unit of Measure field on the Layout tab of the Options dialog box. If you use inches, use decimals for fractions of an inch (for example 0.25 or 1.20).
- After you set all report options, click Apply.
