Drilling Down for Detail on a Previewed Report (Desktop)
You can drill down from a previewed report to display more information about a value on the report. DPS displays the related detail in a separate window.
Report data from which you can drill down is identified by bright blue text. In many cases, you can drill down on the following:
- Record identifiers: DPS displays additional information from that record. For example, if you drill down on a project number, DPS displays related information about the project from the project record in the database.
- Numeric data: DPS displays the supporting detail for the report amount.
You can only drill down from reports that you display on the Preview page in the preview mode. You cannot drill down if you change the display on the Preview page to print layout mode, and you cannot drill down from reports that you download to files and display in other applications.
If you are drilling down to an AP Posting Log or Expense Detail report, a document icon displays to indicate that the transaction is associated with a document.
If you are drilling down to expense data from the Project Summary, Expense Summary, or Office Earnings report, a document icon displays to indicate that there is a supporting document associated with the data. Click this icon to launch the supporting documents in the application you use to view .PDF files rather than in the standard report Preview window.
