Post a Transaction File

After you review or print a transaction file to confirm that it is correct, you can post the file.

This applies for the transaction files that are created for the transactions that you enter in Transaction Center > Transaction Entry.

If the Preview window opens automatically, use its options to print, email, or download the posting log.

To post the transaction file:

  1. On the Navigation menu, click Transaction Center > Transaction Posting.
  2. In the Transaction Type field on the Transaction Posting form, select the type of transaction to post.

The transaction type list is filtered based on your security role's access rights. If you use multiple companies, this list is further refined based on the active company. See the Accounting tab of Role Security for more information.

  3. Highlight the transaction files that you want to post.
  4. Optional. If you use Time and Expense, use the Timesheet and Expense Report tabs to view associated timesheets or expense reports.
  5. On the toolbar, click Post.
  6. In response to the prompt that asks you to confirm the posting, click Yes.
  7. On the Print dialog box, decide if you want to print the posting log and click OK. DPS posts the transaction and displays a message to tell you that the posting was successful.
