Create Organization Levels and Specify Label Formats

Use the Organization Key Format utility to create the number of organization levels your firm uses, specify the delimiter for the organization code, and specify the length of the organization label.

In addition to the general term "organization," Vision uses labels to describe the categories of subcodes. Examples of labels you can supply include company, region, branch, discipline, and principal. You can change the labels at any time in Configuration.

If your company uses the Multicompany feature, you cannot add or change the first level of the organization.

Prerequisite: Back up yourVision database.

To createorganization levels and specify a format, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Utilities > Formats > Organizations.
  2. Complete the fields on the Key Convert Organization Format form.
  3. Review the Sample Value field to see the format as it will be after the key conversion is run.
  4. Click Run to run the key format conversion.

You can now assign a label to this level.
