How Plan Data Synchronizes

You can create a plan in either Vision Navigator or Vision. After you create plans, you can share plan data between the two applications and have the data synchronize automatically.

Not all plan fields that are maintained within a Vision plan are displayed or maintained in Vision Navigator. When a Vision plan is converted to a Navigator plan, the Vision plan's data is synchronized with the project. Navigator stores the additional Vision fields in data tables that are not visible within Navigator; however, if you own the Resource Planning module, you can view these fields in Vision Project Planning.

Whenever a change is made to key fields in the Project or Opportunity Info Centers, the Navigator plan is updated. In addition, whenever the Navigator plan is published or reverted, plan data is synchronized between Vision and Navigator. When you create a Navigator plan or convert a Vision plan to a Navigator plan, the system updates the following Plan Values with the Default Setting. For all but the exceptions noted, when a change is made later to the default setting, the plan value is updated to match.

Start and End Dates Project's Initial Dates, Start and Completion Dates, and Estimated dates. If only one date exists, it is assigned as both the Start and End dates. If neither exists, tomorrow's date is assigned to both dates. These dates also default into the Planning grid when a new Navigator plan is created; however, they are not affected by subsequent changes to the dates in the Project Info Center.
Calendar Scale Defined in Navigator's Plan Settings. If your firm uses the Vision Multicompany feature, the default scale is defined in the project company's Plan Settings.
