Invoices Tab Fields

The display-only fields on the Invoices tab provide the general client, contact, and unapplied retainer amount for the project. The information in these fields populates from within various areas of the Vision application.

Field Description
Client This field displays the billing client that is assigned to the project on the Accounting tab of Vision > Info Center > Project, or in the project's Billing Terms (Billing > Billing Terms).

Address This field displays the client's address that is specified on the General tab of the project's Billing Terms (Billing > Billing Terms).
Contact This field displays the name of the billing contact.
Email This field displays the billing contact's email address. Click this link to create an email message to send to the contact.
Phone This field displays the billing contact's business phone number.
Draft Invoice Pending Approval These fields display if you are assigned to approve or reject invoices and there are draft invoices that have been submitted for your projects. After an invoice is submitted for approval in Vision Interactive Billing or Batch Billing, the pending invoice approval indicator displays on the Invoices tab to alert you that invoices are waiting. A second indicator, the Invoice Pending Approval alert button, also displays on the Navigator toolbar. This button includes a number to identify how many of your projects have invoices that are awaiting approval. When you click this button, the list of projects with invoices awaiting approval displays. When you select a project from this list, the Invoices tab opens with the Draft Invoice Pending Approval fields and toolbar open, as well as a list of the project's invoices. You can select an invoice from the grid and then use these options to preview the invoice, add comments to it, or accept or reject it. Receivables Information These fields display the accounts receivable information for the invoices. It displays the
  • Average Age: This field displays the average number of days, from the invoice date to today, that invoices have an unpaid balance. This field is automatically calculated for all rows in the Invoices grid, even those that do not contain a date.
  • Last Receipt: This field displays the date and amount of the most recent payment received.
  • Unapplied Retainer: If the client has paid a retainer and the biller has applied some of the retainer to one or more invoices, this field displays the amount of the project's held retainers that have not yet been billed.
Invoice Currency If your firm uses the Multicurrency feature, this field displays the billing currency for the project.
