Main Tab of Import Utility Form

Use the Main tab to select the type of table you want import, how the table will be structured, and how the import will work.

Field Description
Table Description From the drop-down list, select the table type that you want to import.

The drop-down list displays all data types to which you have security access. You define transaction security rights on the Accounting Tab of Configuration > Security > Roles. On this tab, you must select either the Full Access to All Transaction Types option, or use the Transaction Type grid to select the Post option for the company and type of transaction.

From Select the format of the input file:
  • Text — Select this option if the file you are importing is a text file. Ajera CRM activates the fields associated with this option, as well as the Text File Fields Mapping tab.
  • ODBC DS — Select this option if the file you are importing is through an ODBC DSN connection. Ajera CRM activates the fields associated with this option, as well as the ODBC DSN Fields Mapping tab.
  • Ajera CRM Table — Select this option of you are importing data from a Ajera CRM table that stores the validated or corrected error records. Ajera CRM activates the Ajera CRM Table field.
Input Table Name Specify the name of the temporary Ajera CRM table that stores the validated or error records before they are imported to the final destination in Ajera CRM.
Text File Fields
Field Delimiter If the file has delimiters, select the delimiter you used.
Text Qualifier If the file contains text qualifiers, select the qualifier you used.
Decimal Symbol Enter the character you used to represent the decimal point if other than a period.
Date Handling Specify how you want Ajera CRM to format dates:
  • Order — Select the order in which you want the month, day, and year to appear in dates.
  • Delimiter — Enter the character that you want to use as the separator between month, day, and year.
  • Leading Zeros — Select this check box if you want leading zeros for 1-digit months or days (01 for January, rather than 1, for example).
  • Four Digit Years — Select this check box if you want Ajera CRM to use all four digits of the year (2015 rather than 15, for example).

ODBC DSN Fields

Field Description
ODBC DSN From the drop-down list, select the data source name.
DSN Table Name From the drop-down list, select a specific table in the database that the data source connects to.
User ID To import ODBC DSN files, you may need to enter a valid user ID and password. Only some of the ODBC DSNs require a user ID and password, depending on the data source for that DSN. For example, the ID and password are required if the data source is SQL Server.
Password To import ODBC DSN files, you may need to enter a valid user ID and password. Only some of the ODBC DSNs require a user ID and password, depending on the data source for that DSN. For example, the ID and password are required if the data source is SQL Server.

Ajera CRM Table Name Select the Ajera CRM table that stores validated or corrected error records.
Allow Updates If you check this box, Ajera CRM treats any duplicate record as an update, rather than an error. If you do not check this box, Ajera CRM performs an Insert and if there is any duplicate record, it is treated as an error.

In general, you can only update CRM Info Center tables. If a table cannot be updated, this option is not available.
