Enter Notes for a WBS Element in Project Planning

To enter notes for a work breakdown structure (WBS) element in a labor plan, display the plan in Project View and either click or in the Notes column on the WBS element's grid row.

Prerequisite: To enter or display notes, the Notes column must be displayed in the grid. To select that column for display, click in the upper-right corner of the grid.

To enter or edit notes for a WBS element in a labor plan:

  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and click Projects.
  2. Select the project for which you want to enter notes.
  3. Switch the Project/Plan toggle to Plan.
  4. On the Actions bar, click Other Actions > Check Out.
  5. Click the Labor tab.
  6. Expand the WBS to display the WBS element for which you which you want to enter a note.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • If the icon displays in the Notes column for the WBS element, click that icon to display the existing notes.
    • If the icon does not display, hover over the row and click to add a note.
  8. Click <> to display the toolbar that provides editing and formatting options.
  9. Enter or edit the notes.
  10. Click Save.
