Start a Kona Conversation
If you use Kona Business, you can create a Kona conversation for the current record. This allows you to collaborate with team members for greater communication and increased productivity.
The CRM application is required for integration with Kona Business.
To start a Kona conversation:
- In the Navigation pane in the browser application, go the Hubs section and select Projects or Opportunities.
- Search for and select a project or opportunity.

Select the Collaboration tab and click
Start a Conversation.
A new conversation dialog box opens where you can begin a discussion related to the current
project or
opportunity. The first time you start a conversation, the following occurs:
- A Kona space is created for the project or opportunity.
- All employees on the Team tab who have record level security access to the record are assigned as space owners. If the Team tab has no employees listed, the system will prompt you to add someone to the team tab.
- In the New Conversation chat room window, enter a Name for the conversation. To mark the conversation as a favorite, click the star icon next to the conversation name. A conversation you've marked as a favorite will show in its normal place in the conversation tab marked with a yellow star icon when viewing ALL conversations. If you choose the FAVORITES filter, then you will see a list of all your favorite conversations. This is an easy way to locate a specific conversation, especially if it is not near the top of your conversations list.

In addition to the individuals on the Team tab, add employees to the conversation as needed.
You can either click the Add People link to select specific team members to add, or Include Everyone to automatically include all employees listed on the Team tab.
The employees that are available for selection are those that meet the following criteria:
- Listed on the Team tab for the current project or opportunity record.
- Have record level security access to the project or opportunity record.
- Assigned as Kona space owners.
- Enter any Comments and/or Notes for the conversation. Use the formatting options to format the comments and notes as needed.
- Click Add to add the conversation. The conversation is added and employees on the team receive notification of the addition.
