Permissions Cobra Tab
This tab helps you set the permissions for a particular role in Cobra.
Users are assigned a primary role to define their permissions; however, you can give a user or group an overriding role in the access control page within Cobra.
The role-based security options are based on the security settings found in the Cobra menus, System > Security Maintenance > Users > Settings and System > Security Maintenance > Menu Clearance. The syntax and tree structure, however, are modified based on Cobra requirements and functionalities.
Each item in this list roughly correlates to a menu item or a process within a view. You can select the parent and child permissions on this tab individually. However, if the parent has been disabled and one of the children has been enabled, the parent permission is automatically reset to Enabled.
By default, the Visible and Enabled permissions are assigned to each group for the following items:
- File
- Processes
- Integration
- Reporting
- Tools
- Projects
- Calendars
- Codes
- Rates
- Resources
- CustomCobra
Some of the items, however, contain options that are considered non-visual settings; meaning, there are no menu items to secure. Although the said settings still display on the context menu, the Visible (or not visible) security setting has the same effect as the Enabled(or not enabled) security setting.
