Add a New Sales Tax Jurisdiction

Set up a new sales tax jurisdiction. You can then assign the appropriate sales tax code to each sales tax jurisdiction. You can also associate an address and telephone number with the sales tax code.

To use the Jurisdiction Setup submodule, you must have access to Settings as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under Settings.

To add a new sales tax jurisdiction:

  1. On the main toolbar, click Settings .
  2. If you have more than one company in your system, use the drop-down list above the left pane of the Settings screen to select the company to which you want to add a sales tax jurisdiction.
  3. In the left pane of the Settings screen, click Tax > Jurisdiction setup.
  4. On the right side of the grid toolbar, select a sales tax method from the drop-down list.
  5. On the grid toolbar, click Add new , and enter the required information in the fields.
