HMRC VAT Return Approval

Use HMRC VAT Return Approval under Finance & Administration to view, update, and manage HMRC VAT returns.

To use the HMRC VAT Return Approval submodule, you must have access to Finance & Administration as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under Settings.

If your WorkBook account is configured to submit VAT returns digitally, you will find relevant information on your pending VAT return approvals in the HMRC VAT Return Approval submodule.

You can use the information on the HMRC VAT Return Approval screen to ensure the timely review and approval of VAT returns before they are submitted to the tax authorities.

The HMRC VAT Return Approval has one main grid and one subgrid. The main grid has columns for VAT return information such as start and end dates of obligation period, obligation received date, status, and due date.

The main grid allows you to perform the following actions:
  • Approve HMRC VAT returns
  • Reject HMRC VAT returns
  • Search for HMRC VAT return records

The subgrid displays more detailed information related to the approval of a VAT record. Approver details such as name, role, priority, and approval date are displayed. In the case of a rejected VAT return, the name of resource who performed the action is displayed as well.

The subgrid allows you to perform the following actions:
  • Search for VAT return approver records
  • View removed approvers

To view only the records that require your approval, go to Tasks > Approval > HMRC VAT Return Approval.
