Procedures Use the Financial Budget submodule in the General Ledger module under Finance & Administration to create, modify, delete, and/or approve budgets for a fiscal year. The Financial Budget submodule is accessible only to employees who have the Allow Financial Administration option selected in the Employee Cross-Company Access submodule under Settings. Enter the Budget for a Dimension Use the Financial Budget submodule to enter a budget for a dimension using the budget account linked to that dimension. If the account is already linked to a dimension on the Dimension Budget tab, you can no longer enter a budget for that account on the Account Budget tab. In this case, you must use the Dimension Budget tab to enter a budget for the account. Enter the Budget for an Account Use the Financial Budget submodule to enter the finance budget for an account without specifying any dimensions for the budget. If the account is already linked to a dimension on the Dimension Budget tab, you can no longer enter a budget for that account on the Account Budget tab. In this case, you must use the Dimension Budget tab to enter a budget for the account. Delete a Finance Budget Use the Financial Budget submodule to delete unapproved finance budgets. You cannot delete approved budgets. Copy a Finance Budget Use the Financial Budget submodule to copy finance budgets. This is useful in cases when you need to make changes to an approved budget. Approve a Finance Budget Use the Financial Budget submodule to approve finance budgets. Approving a budget locks the budget. Search for a Finance Budget You can search for specific finance budgets in the Financial Budget submodule using keywords. Search for a Budget Account You can search for specific budget accounts in the Financial Budget submodule using keywords. Search for a Dimension Budget You can search for specific dimension budgets in the Financial Budget submodule using keywords. Filter Dimension Budget Data You can display data for specific dimensions on the Dimension Budget tab of the Financial Budget submodule. You can filter down data further by selecting the employee responsible for each dimension. Transfer a Dimension Budget to a Budget Account Once you are done entering dimension budgets on the Dimension Budget tab of the Financial Budget submodule, you can transfer the dimension budgets to the budget accounts that were previously selected for each dimension on in the Financial Budget Setup pane.
