Jobs with Expired End Date

Use Jobs with Expired End Date under Finance & Administration to view and update jobs whose end dates have expired.

To use the Jobs with Expired End Date submodule, you must have access to Finance & Administration as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under Settings.

Closing jobs can have a great impact on Gross Profit so the list of jobs with an expired end date should always be empty. Ideally, a job needs to be closed before it even expires. However, certain circumstances prevent a job from being closed. For example, a job has not yet been invoiced, or it still has purchase orders that have yet to be approved and settled.

Together with the Project Manager in charge, determine if you need to close the job or extend its end date.

Note: Once closed, a job can never be reopened to allow time entry. However, additional information such as sales invoices, credit notes, and external costs can be added at any time if it is opened by a finance user.

The Jobs with Expired End Date screen contains information such as job number, job name, end date, Project Manager, company, and percentage of completion.

You can perform the following actions from the Jobs with Expired End Date screen:
  • Update the end date of one or more jobs
  • View the details of a job on the sidebar
  • View a specific job's properties
  • Open a job in a new tab
  • Search for a specific job

To manage only the records that require your action, see Tasks > Follow-Up > Active Jobs with Overdue End Date.
