Manage Codes Tab

Use the Manage Code tab to create, edit, enable or disable, and delete codes.

Columns

Note: The information in this grid is read-only.
Column Description
Code This column displays the costing code.
Note: The values under this column also display in the following areas of the application under the Costing Code column:
  • List View tab in Tasks > To-Do > Tasks
  • Week View tab in Tasks > To-Do > Tasks
  • Scheduling > Schedule Overview > Task Matrix
  • Details subgrid in Scheduling > Schedule Overview > Weekly Schedule
  • Scheduling > Task Follow-Up > Task List
Description This column displays the code description, if provided.
Note: The values under this column also display in the following areas of the application under the Costing Code column:

Active This column indicates if the code is active or inactive.
Level This column indicates the level type.
Parent This column displays the level 1 code that is associated with a level 2 (child) code. The cell is blank for level 1 codes.
Allow use on tasks This column indicates whether the code is enabled for use on tasks.
Last change by This column displays the name of the resource that made the most recent change to a code.
Last changed This column displays the date when the last update was made.

Create New Costing Code Dialog Box

Field Description
Code Enter a code. The code must be unique and can be composed of alphanumeric characters, underscores, and dashes.
Description Enter a description.
Level Select a level type. This drop-down list displays the WorkBook-defined level types:
  • Level 1: This option can be used for jobs or jobs and tasks.
  • Level 2: This option will require a parent code and can only be used on tasks.
Use Select the element or elements on which the code can be used. This field is present only if you selected Level 1 in the Level field.
Parent Select a parent code. This drop-down list displays the user-supplied parent codes. This field is present only if you selected Level 2 in the Level field.
