Mark a Department as Inactive

Use the Departments submodule to mark departments as inactive.

To use the Departments submodule, you must have access to Settings as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under Settings.

To mark a department as inactive:

  1. On the main toolbar, click Settings .
  2. If you have more than one company in your system, use the drop-down list above the left pane of the Settings screen to select the company containing the department that you want to enable the active status of.
  3. In the left pane of the Settings screen, click Company Settings > Departments.
  4. Highlight the department that you want to disable the active status of and clear the Active checkbox.
  5. When WorkBook asks if you want to deactivate the selected department, click Yes.
Note: Inactive or deactivated departments are enclosed in parenthesis and/or are highlighted in red in WorkBook grids, columns, and fields. WorkBook keeps the historical data of inactive departments even if they are filtered out moving forward. They will still appear in instances where they were previously selected.
