System Variable 469: Allow to Reopen Job if the Job Is Already Financially Booked in Finance

Use this System Variable to determine if it should still be possible to change the status of a job after the job closure has already been processed through project postings and journal entries.

This System Variable is enabled by default. When it is enabled, a job can be reopened even after it has been journalized. However, there are specific actions that cannot be done on a job that has been journalized regardless of job status and this setting.

A journalized job also has an altered posting configuration. It no longer contributes to WIP balances, and any new expenditures go directly to the realized result. When a job is closed, further expenses are blocked. Closed jobs are not automatically re-enabled if the job status is changed. They must be re-enabled in Jobs > Job Properties Sidebar > Job Finance Settings, but changing the job status is not required for this.

It may be necessary to perform a refresh when modifying System Variable values.
