Explain a Timesheet Revision

When you revise the hours entered on an existing timesheet for a day prior to today, you may be required to provide an explanation for the revision.

Prerequisites:
  • Your timesheet processing capabilities depend on how your system administrator defines settings in Vision: Checklist: Configuring Vision for Navigator Timesheets. Contact your system administrator if you have questions.
  • Open an existing timesheet and revise the hours for a date prior to today.
  • Save or submit your timesheet. Depending on if explanations are required when you save or when you submit, the Revision Explanation dialog box may display.

To explain a timesheet revision, complete the following steps:

  1. Use the Standard Explanations drop-down to select an pre-defined explanation for the revision. Navigator automatically copies the standard explanation into the Explanation field. You can modify this explanation or enter additional details about the revision as needed.
  2. An entry must be made in the Explanation field, either from selecting a Standard Explanation, or by entering your own.
  3. Click OK to save your changes. When you save or submit the revision, the date and time of the revision, as well as the person responsible for making the changes, are saved in the revision records that are associated with the timesheet in the Vision database.
