Enter Your Time on Tasks Assigned to Other Employees

Depending on your role in WorkBook, you can enter your own time in Resources on tasks assigned to another employee. Workbook saves the time in Time & Entry. For example, if you are the employee's manager and you also need to enter your own time for the task that the employee is working on.

Note: You must have permission to add, delete, and modify resources to complete this task.

To enter your time on a task assigned to another emppoyee:

  1. On the main toolbar, click Resources .
  2. On the right side of the grid toolbar, under the filter icon , select Resource Default Grid from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select the employee assigned to the task that you want to enter your own time on by completing any of the following actions:
    • In the Search in Grid field, enter the name of the employee, then select it from the grid.
    • Click the Filter field next to the Search in Grid field, select Employees as your filter, and select the employee from the grid.
  4. On the grid toolbar, click Resource Information / to display the employee card.
  5. On the side toolbar of the employee card, click Tasks .
  6. Click the Grid View tab .
  7. Click on the top toolbar of the employee card, then click View Schedule on a Subpage.
  8. In the top grid, select a job.
  9. In the middle grid, select the task for which you want to enter time.
  10. On the top toolbar of the top grid, click , then click Create Time Entry.
  11. Use the fields and options in the Time Entry dialog box to enter time for the selected task.
  12. Click OK.
    WorkBook displays the hours on your time sheet in Time & Expense.
