Inbox

Use the Inbox module to keep track of your tasks and communicate with team members, coworkers, clients, and prospects.

The WorkBook Inbox is an information hub where you can monitor the things for which you are responsible. This includes items that require your action or approval, such as tickets, deadlines, expense entries, and time entries. In addition, the Inbox enables you to communicate with team members and collaborate on items within your WorkBook system.

WorkBook has over 90 different notification types that can be enabled. They notify you when your action is required in a specific area in your WorkBook system, depending on your setup and responsibilities. If you are an Administrator, you configure notifications in Settings > Advanced Tools > Conversation & Notification Setup. For WorkBook to know what notifications you want to enable, you must first add agents. You select the agents in Settings > Advanced Tools > Agent Setup.

You can personalize your notification settings in Personal Preferences > My Settings > Notification & Conversation Settings.

Inbox Categories and Subcategories

WorkBook categorizes the items in your Inbox into Inbox and Channels.

Inbox items are further grouped into Inbox, History, Removed, Tasks, and One-to-One Conversations.
Note: WorkBook displays all items in the Inbox subcategory, regardless of type.

WorkBook groups channel items into Private, Shared, and Global.

System Variables

WorkBook has a number of System Variables that are related to notifications. For the list of variables, see System Variables (Notifications).

Card- and Entry-Specific Actions

For most Inbox items such as tasks, material entries, expense entries, or mileage entries, the same actions are available to you as they are when you access them from anywhere in WorkBook. For example, if you select a task conversation from your Inbox, you are presented with the same window that WorkBook displays when you open a task card. For procedures, refer to the online help topics where they are described in detail.
