Project Management User Interface
Review the different areas of the Project Management user interface to help you get started with your tasks.
The options that display depend on your Vision Security access rights.
- Dashboard
The Dashboard provides an overview of the selected project's key amounts and calculations. It contains a maximum of four charts, called dashparts, and amounts related to the selected project. You can quickly refer to this information for a snapshot of the selected project's progress. - Dashparts
The Project Management dashparts display a summary of the selected project's information on the Dashboard. If your role established in Vision > Configuration > Security > Roles allows you to access the Dashboard, you can see contract, labor, expense, and consultant dashparts even if you do not have access to their respective Planning grids. - Tabs
Project Management uses tabs to organize project information. - Pages
Use the Planning tab to access the different pages of the Project Management workspace. As you select each page, the respective charts and grids display. - Charts
The Project Management charts display when you select the contract, labor, expense, or consultant pages. These charts provide details on amounts based on the selected WBS element on the grid. - Grids
The Project Management forms contain grids that allow you to enter data for each WBS element that is associated with the plan. The main portion of the grid is typically read-only, but you can enter and update information on the Resource portion of the grid. The WBS is assigned and planned on the rows of the Resource grid and access to these features is assigned in Vision > Security > Roles. Some of the global features and functions of these grids are listed below. - Lookups
Use the various lookups in the Project Management workspace to make entering data faster and easier. - Planning Command Bar
Use the Command Bar to perform various functions when working with the Navigator plan. For example, you can save the plan, publish data, or revert your changes back to the plan's original state. This bar displays at certain times when you click the Actions button (for example, when you are saving the plan's baseline). Your access to these functions is based on your assigned role's access rights on the Planning tab and Navigator tab in Vision > Security > Roles. If you don't have the Vision Resource Planning module, then your access is based on your assigned role's access rights on the Navigator tab. - Tools and Buttons
Use the Project Management Tools options and buttons to complete various functions within the associated workspaces.
